STAA is committed to fulfilling the principles of sustainability in the procurement of raw materials to be used or distributed. This commitment also applies to each of our suppliers, especially in the palm oil supply chain which involves a number of external parties. STAA will firmly encourage each individual or unit in the supply chain to implement and follow sustainable practices, including health, work safety and waste processing practices as well as environmental conservation through positive synergy between STAA and suppliers to improve skills, knowledge or access to even better resources.
Carry out strict selection of suppliers
As a firm step, the company carries out selection of all suppliers before signing a contract, which will then be evaluated periodically. All suppliers must meet the standards in our sustainability policy and each supplier is also required to sign a supplier code of conduct, which states they will follow each of the Company's sustainability policies.
Partnership with Farmers
STAA also implements plasma farmer schemes and partnerships with independent farmers or farmer groups. This scheme not only ensures sustainability in the supply chain, but also contributes to improving farmers' living standards through increasing plantation production. Apart from that, the Company also conducts oil palm cultivation training programs for farmers.
