Medan, 11 July 2026 — PT Sumber Tani Agung Resources Tbk (STAA) organised an Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Office Administration & Data Processing training programme for employees at its Head Office in Medan. Held on Saturday, 11 July 2026, the session was facilitated by Junaidi Virgo, a practitioner specialising in human resource management and artificial intelligence.
The programme formed part of STAA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen employee capabilities and support their ability to adapt to technological advancements and evolving workplace demands. Participants were introduced to practical ways in which AI can be used as a supporting tool across a range of office functions.
Through a series of interactive sessions, employees explored the application of AI in administrative processes, data processing, report preparation, and the development of workplace documents. The training focused on practical use cases relevant to day-to-day responsibilities, enabling participants to apply the technology appropriately and effectively in their respective roles.
Junaidi Virgo highlighted that the ability to work with AI is becoming increasingly important as organisations respond to changes in the workplace. He noted that competitive advantage is shaped not only by access to technology, but also by the ability of individuals and organisations to understand and use it effectively.
AI can also support employees in developing ideas, driving innovation, and approaching workplace challenges more effectively. However, the technology remains a supporting tool, while analysis, judgement, and decision-making continue to rest with the user.
Alongside its potential benefits, the programme emphasised the importance of using AI carefully and responsibly. Information and materials generated through AI should be reviewed and assessed against the relevant context, operational requirements, and the sensitivity of the data involved.
Through the training, STAA encouraged employees to develop a balanced understanding of both the capabilities and limitations of AI. When applied appropriately, the technology can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work processes while allowing employees to devote greater attention to analysis, collaboration, and value-adding decision-making.
The programme reflects STAA’s commitment to developing a workforce that is adaptable, responsible, and capable of using emerging technologies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of its work.
